Radiant Heat

Floor heating, also called radiant floor heating, is a luxurious home feature and a popular trend in new housing, as well as in renovations that focus on clean, comfortable, design-led living.

Although there’s no denying underfloor heating is the coziest way to warm your toes, is it worth the extra cost and hassle? Should you just stick to traditional radiators to warm your house? Let us tell you more on why it’s a good investment.

Cooling

Is your central air conditioner…

More than 10 years old? It could be operating much less efficiently than newer units. A new air conditioner can help you save on your energy bill. One affordable monthly payment may not be as expensive as continuous repairs for the old one.

More than 15 years old? Repairs are often costlier and more persistent. This is due to parts deteriorating and R-22 refrigerant being eliminated.

Heating

Furnaces

Furnaces more than 10 years old can run very inefficiently. Did you know an aging furnace may be wasting up to 40 cents on every dollar you use to heat your home?

Here are a few more signs you’re due for a furnace replacement:

  • Numerous fixes
  • Skyrocketing energy bills—even though thermostat settings stay the same
  • Hot and cold areas throughout your house
  • Furnace repeatedly cycles on and off and blows cold air
  • More noise—especially rattling, popping, humming, screeching or squealing
  • Burner flames are yellow, not blue—indicating incomplete combustion, leaking gas and/or carbon monoxide

Indoor Air Quality

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) refers to the air quality within and around buildings and structures, especially as it relates to the health and comfort of building occupants. Understanding and controlling common pollutants indoors can help reduce your risk of indoor health concerns.

Health effects from indoor air pollutants may be experienced soon after exposure or, possibly, years later.

Geothermal

Geothermal heat pumps can do all sorts of things—from heating and cooling homes to warming swimming pools. These systems transfer heat by pumping water or a refrigerant through pipes just below the Earth’s surface, where the temperature is a constant 50 to 60°F. During the winter, the water or refrigerant absorbs warmth from the Earth, and the pump brings this heat to the building above. In the summer, some heat pumps can run in reverse and help cool buildings.

If you have an existing Geothermal unit and are ready for an upgrade, need service or just maintenance, give us a call!
